OBRAT - SPACE FOR ART AND PARTICIPATION

OBRAT is a space dedicated to (1) youth participation (debates, workshops, trainings, visual, audiovisual and performance content), and (2) cultural and artistic activity (exhibitions, lectures, panel discussions, talks with artists, animation production workshops, and as a presentation space of the GuestRoomMaribor residency platform).

Pekarna Magdalenske mreže presented its programmes in the field of visual and audiovisual arts at the K18 Gallery between 2010 and early 2022  and in the beginning 2023 it moved its production to 9 Revolution Square, to OBRAT - a space for art and participation.

Between 2010 and 2022, more than 420 cultural events have been organised at K18 Gallery, including solo and group exhibitions, installations, audiovisual performances, interventions on the gallery façade, film screenings, artist talks, trainings, theoretical lectures and workshops. With its non-institutional openness and fluidity, K18 Gallery has made an important contribution to the mosaic of Maribor's contemporary art landscape.

Vetrinj mansion (Slovene: Vetrinjski dvor), located in the center of Maribor is a multi-purpose space for exhibitions, art & culture events, ateliers, working spaces, and a bar. Vetrinj mansion is primarily intended for the implementation of programs of non-governmental cultural organizations.

Pekarna Magdalenske mreže is a non-governmental, non-profit institution, founded in 1997 as an organization for encouraging, supporting program and project cooperation among individuals and groups conducting cultural, educational, research, informative and humanitarian activities as well as for granting assistance in solving their short-term residential needs for creative spaces.
